I'm gonna have to say LeBron and now it may not even be that close. The way LeBron has developed his game these few years is outstanding, he went from a poor, to decent and now good jump shooter. Yes, his jump shot is finally good, although not as good as Kobes. (not close actually) But he still is the better offensive player not to mention a remarkable play maker. He also playing the post more and more, not to mention how he carries a sub par team to the leagues elite.

lj is right. no debate. but lebron is better as an all around player. Kobe is just a better shooter. lebron can shoot, pass, rebound, defend, everything

kobe all day every day. Kobe is straight business and has a killer instinct. Lebron is still young so its understandable but he certainly doesnt have that winning mentality and seriousness and all around swagger about him that kobe does...

LJ is no doubt the future of the nba and im not taking anything away from him by saying i would choose kobe over him....because frankly both those dudes are in a category of their own....it's "lebron and kobe" and then everyone else

Lebron is a much better athlete

Lebron can post up and drive to the basket much better than kobe

Kobe's mid-range game is virutally unstoppable

Kobe's outside shot is better and more reliable

Kobe doest break under double/triple teams

Lebron is a better defensive player (slightly)

Kobe's intuition and instincts are better

Kobe is more of a system player (currently), while Lebron is mostly a one man show

I'd take Lebron in the regular season

I'd take kobe in the postseason

With the game on the line, Kobe's better (although statistically lebron is more "clutch," but most of those plays are drive in layups where he travels like a dozen times)

Basically, Kobe is a master of the art while Lebron is a superstar


It kind of depends on what your expectations are

I'd take lebron if I was rebuilding a team from scratch (lebron would be a much better choice for the nets, as opposed to kobe)

I'd take Kobe to lead a team which has talent

I strongly disagree with that part. Since Lebron joined the NBA he's averaged more assists and rebounds per game every season. Lebron is a better player on the whole. Kobe is only better in some situations and in other components of the game. I do agree with the majority of what you said though

I voted Lebron cuz simply he's doin' wonders at an early phase relatively speaking, as he's doin' his best to improve and matser most elements of the game and not just shooting..imagine how he would be few more years from now...

He was in the '03 draft class, he's been in the league 7 years, went to the finals once and got swept.. Kobe, by the time he was 7 years in the league, had already won 3 rings, with more competition. even Wade already has a ring
